City Beautiful

Somehow I have been blessed to live in this gorgeous city for yet another summer. Nauvoo is truly a "Beautiful Place" where I have been able to find myself year after year and renew my commitments again and again. I feel as though this city is my healing place...it seems to take my heart and seal it to the Lord time and again. The Spirit here has touched my soul and removed me from darkness to see a renewed light and perspective before entering into the world again. This description makes it sound like a safe haven and I think that is exactly what it is...this is my home away from home and my little sacred place of rest. This place has blessed my life in more ways than I could ever write. Miracles have happened here for years and I have been so blessed to be among them. Each time I come around the bend of the river road and see that beautiful temple I know I have come home to find hope for a new year. Yesterday, we drove along the river road and I couldn't help but dangle my legs out the window to feel the cool breeze of the river shade on my little toes. I am so grateful for the many sacrifices, old and new, that have allowed me to partake of this place at this time. This little bend in the Mississippi is heaven!
