I think I love football so much because it requires every part of the human experience to be successful: Mind, Body and Soul. You have to be prepared enough to act quick on your feet, you constantly are faced with choosing the best option to score points. You have to endure a physical beating each game and you have to exert every ounce of strength for the entire game. But most importantly you have to trust your teammates to follow through and you have to throw your full heart into the game. This sounds an awful lot like life to me. Silly though it may be...I love this game because with every victory I feel like there is a great sense of pride taken in the sacrifice to get there...and with every loss I feel an instant desire to do better next time. This game embodies hope for me. With each passing season I hope for a new year of challenges and victories...and right about now I wait with giddy anticipation for the next time I get to shout at the top of my lungs for another touchdown.
I think this is how we must look at life...looking forward to every hurdle with great anticipation and hope. Although we may not know the outcome we can give everything we have: Mind, Might and Strength...Knowing that our heart is safe in the hands of the Lord. Win or Lose the ultimate Coach is there to teach us and help us do better next time.
So bring on the cheesy sports analogies and bring on football season already...I'm ready to kick some trash this year! GO NOLES...
Check out our star QB E.J. Manuel...yes please and thank you
Very nice, all of it. Except for the Go Noles part, but that was expected!
